About MSFF

Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival offers an arena of communication between the directors and the audience by means of ‘Genre’ and its characteristics.

Short Film Festival! Characterized by Genre
‘Beyond the barrier of genres’, the theme of Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival is a new concept of a movie festival which classifies the films based on the characteristics of genre. This is clearly a different ingridient of the programs compared with other existing short film festivals.
Here in this festival, the short film directors can boast about their talents and imaginations, meanwhile the audience enjoy picking and watching their kind of movies such as “A City of Sadness”(Historical Drama), “A Short Film about Love” (Melodrama), “The King of Comedy”(Comedy), “The Extreme Nightmare”(Horror-Fantasy) and “The 40,000 Blows”(Action- Thriller).
Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival attempts not only to break away from the stereotypes of the existing short film festivals, but to twist, stir, and penetrate the solemnism and amateurism while maintaining the spirit of ‘experimentalism’.

Executive Committee and Judging Panel of Korean Film Directors
The executive committee of Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival is composed of the eminent Korean film directors, who appoint the judges in each genre to oversee the final preliminary and final screening process.
As is known by the name ‘Beyond the barrier of genres’, the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival has one distinctive goal of discovering joyful works showing new and fresh imagination and sensitivity which move about regardless of particular categories while retaining their own property.

I LOVE SHORTS! Communicate With The Audience
Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival ‘Beyond the barrier of genres’ is a unique occasion where you can enjoy the cheerful and youthful essence of the films with the virtue of succinctness and poignancy.
Shouting ‘I LOVE SHORTS!’, we hope we can make the festival a good chance to enjoy short films with the audience together.
