시놉시스

승연은 식물인간 상태의 남편을 오랫동안 간호하며 살아왔다. 남편의 생일 날, 아무도 없는 병실에서 홀로 생일파티를 하는데……
Seung-yeon has been nursing her husband in a vegetative state for some time. On his birthday, she puts on her make-up, lies next to him on a hospital bed, and makes love for the last time in their lives.

연출의도

언제부터인가 나는 죽음이라는 것이 살아있는 사람들의 몫이라고 생각해왔다. 이 영화를 통해 안락사에 대한 찬반을 이야기를 하고자 하는 것이 아니라, 가장 소중한 사람을 스스로 보내는 여자의 이야기를 통해 만약 당신이 그녀라면, 혹은 누워 있는 남자라면 어떻게 하겠느냐? 라는 질문을 던져보고 싶었다.
To live or to die is an exclusive question only for the living. However, my intentions are not to emphasize one of the political views on Euthanasia, but merely to ask the audience what would they do if they were in her shoes, or even in his, in this story of a woman who chooses to kill the one she loves the most.
