시놉시스

우시장 정육점 여자 정희, 남편 성칠은 도박에 빠져 걸핏하면 정희를 학대한다. 정희를 불쌍하게 여긴 우시장 여자들은 그녀에게 고기를 먹고 힘을 기르라고 권하는데...
In a cattle market Jung-Hee, a butcher, escapes from her abusive husband, Sung-Chil, who gambles and even beats her. Neighbors who pity the situation suggest that she eat meat to be strong.

연출의도

폭력은 폭력을 부른다. 폭력은 정의도 악도 아니다. 폭력은 폭력을 행사한 자에게 반드시 돌아오게 되 있다. “매맞는 아내들”의 극단적 폭력도 그렇다. 이들은 희생자인가? 살인자인가? 생존자인가?
Vionece provokes violence. There is neither justice, nor evil in it. Violence toward human being is bound to return to the hamer. The extreme violence of “flogged wives” is the same. Are they victims? Murderers? Or survivors?
