- 하나원에서 나온 지 얼마 안 된 탈북자 승철에겐 모든 것이 낯설다. 휑한 임대 아파트에서 멍한 일상을 보내는 승철. 승철을 담당한 형사는 공장에 승철을 소개하지만, 탈북자라는 이유로 거절당한다. 길가에 버려진 옷장을 발견한 승철은 미련스럽게 옷장을 짊어지고 아파트로 돌아온다. 허름한 옷장만이 덩그러니 놓인 차가운 집 안, 찾아온 형사가 술에 취해 잠들자, 남겨진 승철은 추위를 피해 좁은 옷장 안으로 들어간다.
Everything felt awkward to Seung-Chul as he stepped out of the Hanawon(a state-run facility for the settlement of North Korean Defectors In South Korea). Living in an empty rented apartment room, he is discriminated because he is a defector - the factory Seung-Chul's undertaking detective applied him for a job turned him down. He feels lonely in this alien society, as he spends his day in his room with a wardrobe he found in the streets. He crawls into the wardrobe as the detective comes to home drunk, trying to avoid the cold, trying to keep himself company.

- 보다 행복한 삶을 위하여 목숨을 걸고 내려온 탈북자들 대부분은 자본주의의 무게에 눌려 극빈층으로 힘들게 살아가고 있다. 여기 승철의 일상을 통하여 이 들의 어둡고 아이러니한 현실을 보여주고 싶었다.
