연출의도

이 영화는 12살 마리아의 첫 키스에 대한 기대와 십대의 세계를 다루고 있다. 마리아의 상상은 실제 상황과 함께 섞이게 되고 유머가 섞인 이 시적인 표현은 감독이 순수한 첫 의식으로 연출하였다. 이 영화는 그 방향에 있어 다양한 카메라 앵글과 프레임, 움직임들이 키스 장면을 방탕으로 보여지고 있다. 주관적인 카메라 앵글(관객들이 캐릭터의 눈으로 보는 부분), 플래시 백, 마리아의 현실과 상상의 세계는 감독이 이 영화의 이야기를 만들어 나가는 데 필요한 내러티브의 소스로 조화롭게 나열되어 있다.
The plot of Saliva portrays the world of adolescent through the life of 12 year old Marina, obsessed with the anticipation of her first kiss. Scenes from Marina’s imagination alternate with the “real” action, bringing lyrical expression with touches of humor to this innocent initiation rite, written and directed by Esmir Filho. The film offers an invigorating exercise in direction, with the use of a wide variety of câmera angles, framing and movement around the scene of the kiss. The use of subjective câmera, (when the viewer looks through the eyes of the character), flashbacks, and alternation between the real and the imaginary in Marina’s mind, complement the menu of narrative resources the director makes use of to tell the story.
